I am a well-published poet via acotswoldpoet.blogspot.com Half a Pair of People is my first book. I had been a debutante and magistrate. I fled an awful marriage after 20 years. Being single again after such a long time meant I was vulnerable. Men tried to take advantage of me. That includes a colleague magistrate! I needed jobs doing in the house and it was so very difficult when “handymen” wanted to fulfill their sexual desires. I made a bee-line for the Oxford Rape Crisis Centre. I helped as a volunteer.
However, I found a new niche in society and married an academic. He died in 2017. Since June 2018 I live with a retired professor. The last chapter of the book is called “A Pair of People” and we both enjoy life to the full.
